Freycinet is a national park on the east coast of Tasmania, and is approx. 125km northeast of Hobart. It occupies a large part of the Freycinet Peninsula, named after French navigator Louis de Freycinet. Founded in 1916 it is Tasmania’s oldest park.
The Park consists of dramatic pink granite mountains, surrounded by brilliant blue bays and white sandy beaches. The dramatic peaks of the Hazards tower over the approaching visitor and provide a backdrop for the majority of the activities in the park.
